Cristiano Ronaldo Missing Wayne Rooney Partnership
Cristiano Ronaldo Insights a Stunning Reunion With Previous Man United Team Mate Wayne Rooney
CRISTIANO RONALDO concedes he misses playing with previous Manchester United partner Wayne Rooney - and says the match may run into each other again later on.
The ex-United team played together at Old Trafford from 2004 to 2009, winning three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup twice and the Champions League.
Ronaldo's contract with current club Juventus keeps running until the late spring of 2022, while Rooney as of late signed a deal to play for MSL side D.C. Joined until 2021.
In any case, Ronaldo, 33, rushed to commend his old colleague when tested about their relationship and implied that they could arrange together once more.
"He never stops, he always runs, helps the team. He’s a fantastic team player and he scores goals.
“He scored important goals, for me he’s fantastic.
“He was the kid of England. Everyone loved him. He is a fantastic boy, fantastic player.
“I used to call him, between me and my mates, the pit bull. I remember when he lost the ball he was so powerful, a strong guy, he shoots unbelievable.
"He scored many goals, what can I say? I miss playing with him. The future nobody knows. Maybe we’ll play one day together again.”Rooney, 33, is set to make a stun come back to the England squad when Gareth Southgate's side clash with USA in a friendly one month from now.
The Three Lions' record scorer - who scored 53 times for the national side - has featured for his new club with 12 goals in 21 appearances.
What's more, he will now be regarded with one last cap in a cash turning match that is set to raise assets for the RSPCA and the Wayne Rooney Foundation.
In a statement, Rooney said: "I am truly humbled and hugely excited to play for England at Wembley again.
"I would like to thank Gareth Southgate and The FA for inviting me back and helping to support my Foundation in the process.
“Playing for England was the greatest honour of my career – so winning my 120th, and final, cap will be a particularly special moment for me.
"It’s fitting that the match will be against the USA and I hope that both sets of fans enjoy the game.
“I have been hugely impressed with the progress of this young England team.
“I hope that whilst I am with the squad I can pass on some of my experience. Trying to help others is a particular focus of mine now through my Foundation.
"I was lucky to enjoy a long and successful career with a great many people helping me to achieve my dreams.
“The Foundation allows me to give something back to four charities, all of whom do hugely important work.”
