Jose Mourinho Backed To Build Power-House Man United
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will be backed in January to strengthen his current squad if the right deals are possible, with the club willing to part with about £100m - Plus.
The Man United manager want to sign a central defender and a goal scoring forward after failing to add in the previous summer window. which is a difficult time to find value.
More than £100m col potentially be available for the United Manager. Jose Mourinho was interested in Real Madrid's Raphael Varane before the start of the current campaign and United were willing to support him financially if a deal was on the possible. Leicester City;s Harry Maguire and Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng were also on the cards but United could not pursue them as the board could not believe either of them being an upgrade to the squad.
This frustrated Jose Mourinho and it is understood that he will be supported in the coming transfer window. After Sunday's 2-1 win against Everton, Mourinho raised concerns over firepower upfront from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford, putting it that there has been only one goal between them in the last 9 games.
Last January Alexis Sanchez was signed in a swap deal but the Chilean has not lived up the the expectations at Old Trafford.
According to Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial does not realize how good he can be as the 22-year old won a penalty and score against Everton on Sunday. Mourinho wanted to sell the French star but Ed Woodward, the chairman brushed off the idea of selling the United star.
"He is quick, he is good with the ball, he can run. He has everything that a Manchester United football player needs. Sometimes I don't think he understands that. If I had his ability with the ball and I was as quick as him, then i wouldn't pass to anyone and I would score every game. To be serious, he does need more confidence and this comes with results." - Nemaja Matic about Anthony Martial
Matic worked under Mourinho at Chelsea and that makes him to understand more about the manager's demands.
"The manager speaks with him about it," he said "And I have told him [about how good he can be]."
