Chelsea are Reluctant to Prepare a Move for Arsenal and Wales Midfielder Aaron Ramsey




Chelsea are having second thoughts about making a move for Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey, 27, due to form of Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Blues are one of the teams monitoring Ramsey's developments at the Gunners.

It is reported that Arsenal have told Ramsey that he is free to leave in the summer and will not be offered new contract. The London club also think they will listen to only reasonable offers in January transfer window.
The Blues are currently impressed my midfielders Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as they are in form of their lives at Stamford Bridge. Nevertheless Chelsea feel there is a need for a midfielder.

Barkley has scored three times in his last three games and earned a recall to the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
And Loftus-Cheek, who was made available for loan in the summer, has scored four goals in his last three games.

Chelsea midfield could be bloated with another addition as they currently have Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Loan signing Mateo Kovacic and the forgotten Danny Drinkwater also competing for places.

There are questions over the long-term future of Fabregas, who is 31 and facing a big pay cut to extend his time at the club when his contract expires next summer.

Chelsea have no plans to sign Kovacic on a permanent deal at the end of the season and he will be due to return to Real Madrid.

But Ramsey, 28 next month, would be available on a free transfer next summer, his wage demands and signing-on fee means he would not come cheap. Chelsea can not afford to bid for him in January and that could be a threat to their hopes of getting him for free.

Chelsea midfield is currently intact and that could be so throughout the season if Barkley and Loftus-Cheek maintain their current impressive form.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also monitoring Ramsey's situation at Arsenal and could gamble on bidding for him in January as competitors only hope for free transfer next summer.
